CIC’s are highly regulated in relation to taxation, dividends and income. They should be set up for the “interest of the community” and therefore are subject to approval by the Regulator of CIC’s at Companies House.
Please note that this type of company takes longer to incorporate than a regular company (depends on the complexity of the objects clause and business activities (3-4 weeks)).
If a company number is required urgently it may be wise to set up a normal share/guarantee company and then convert to a CIC post incorporation. To discuss, please contact us on 020 7250 3350.
